The LRF starts 2013 with two conferences, a Masterclass lecture and our Visiting Scholar, Professor Trevor Hartley from the London School of Economics.
First Access to Justice on Monday 11 March, presented in association with the New Zealand Centre for Human Rights. This conference will focus on the limitations on resources and the importance of governments to justify expenditure. We aim to explore the extent to which the justice sector meets its obligation to secure access to justice, including a review of planned changes to various courts, funding of legal aid and other issues. Please refer to the brochure above for further details on how to register for this conference.
Chaired by the Chief High Court Judge, Hon Justice Winkelmann, Professor Hartley will deliver the keynote address at our second conference on 8 April, International Litigation: The Present and the Future. We are delighted that he will be joined by Mr Justice Morawetz of the Superior Court of Ontario, Professor Merkin of Exeter University, the Chief District Court Judge and David Goddard QC.
This conference will address current practices and ways in which particular cross-border disputes may be resolved more efficiently and effectively in the future. Fur further details and how to register please refer to the brochure above.
Further details on the events listed above will be posted shortly.
