We were delighted to welcome the Hon Christopher Finlayson, MP and Attorney-General to address the our AGM in May. The topic of his address was Respect for the Judiciary. The full AGM booklet containing Minutes of the previous AGM, the Director's Report and financial information for the year is  available to view above.

The winners of the 2008 writing awards were announced at the AGM, and these are available to view on the Writing Awards section of this website.

The Foundation has been involved in the publication of two books this year. One is The Permanent New Zealand Court of Appeal: Essays on the first 50 years, edited by Rick Bigwood. This book follows the conference the Foundation held on this subject in 2008. The second is Learned in the Law: the Auckland Law School 1883-2008, written by Brian Coote. This book is a history of the Law School at Auckland University and will be of interest to any graduate of law from Auckland.Details on how to order these books is on the Publications page of this website.

Our next conference for 2009 is A Modern Law of Trusts to be held on 28 August in the Foyer Level of the AXA Building, Shortland St, Auckland. If this is an area of law you practice in, please take the time to read the editorial article and conference brochure above.
