Membership of the Foundation is available to lawyers and non-lawyers alike. The benefits of membership include:
- A 10% reduction in the subscription rate to the New Zealand Law Review.
- Reduced membership rates for the Foundation’s conferences and other events;
- The right to attend the Foundation’s Annual General Meeting and Dinner;
- A 10% reduction in the cost of purchasing past LRF conference and seminar papers.
Members will also receive the Foundation’s newsletter and advance notice of Foundation conferences, the Annual Dinner and occasional lectures.
By way of example, a sample of recent membership benefits includes:

The Legal Research Foundation welcomes student members, which includes:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate and postgraduate university students;
- Law clerks;
- Judges’ clerks;
- Students undertaking Professionals.
In addition to the benefits of general membership, student members are eligible for a reduced membership fee. Student members may also be offered the opportunity to attend LRF conferences and events at rate reduced from the general members’ rate.
